Getting there by car

From the South

From the A5 motorway from the direction of Freiburg/Basel, take the Freudenstadt/Strasbourg motorway exit and take the B 28 federal road in the direction of Freudenstadt. Here you pass the village of Oberkirch. This journey takes about 45 minutes from the motorway exit to the hotel.

From the North 1

From the A5 motorway from the direction of Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden or Frankfurt am Main, exit at the Bad Peterstal-Griesbach exit. Here you follow the B 28 federal road and pass the municipality of Oberkirch. This journey takes about 45 minutes from the motorway exit to the hotel.

From the North 2

Take the A5 motorway exit Baden-Baden and follow the B 500 federal road, which is called the Black Forest High Road. You can enjoy views of the forests on both sides of the road. Near the village of Kniebis, take the B 28 federal road and follow it to the municipality of Bad Peterstal-Griesbach. It should be noted that there are a lot of serpentines to drive on (a challenge for the bikers!). Expect the low speed of larger and longer trucks.

From the East

Coming from Stuttgart, take the A 81 motorway and exit at the “Horb am Neckar” exit. The road automatically flows into the B 28 federal road and here the signage “Freudenstadt” comes very quickly. Follow this B 28 federal road to the municipality of Bad Peterstal-Griesbach.

From the southeast

From the direction of Singen (Hohentwiel) or Schaffhausen (Switzerland) follow the A 81 motorway and pass the town of Villingen-Schwenningen. Then take the exit “Rottweil” and take the B 462 federal road to the municipality of “Schiltach”. Here you take the B 294 federal road to Freudenstadt and then take the B 28 federal road to the municipality of Bad Peterstal-Griesbach.
As already described above, many serpentines and possibly larger and longer trucks will take the route from the village of Kniebis down to Bad Peterstal-Griesbach.

Arrival by train

From Offenburg ICE station, take the SWEG (line 718) To Bad Griesbach. The approximately 21 km long journey takes you via Appenweier, Oberkirch, Oppenau, Lochberg and Bad Peterstal to the final stop in Bad Griesbach. Trains run every one to two hours on weekdays in the morning and every one hour in the afternoon, on Saturdays and Sundays every two hours.

If you arrive from abroad, I recommend Frankfurt International Airport,even if it is about 200 kilometers away. Here you can take a rental car, a train connection to Offenburg or the plane to Stuttgart, Baden Airpark or Strasbourg.
